Power

  • The new engine delivers 300 horsepower at 3100 rpm and 520 lb.-ft. of torque at 1800 rpm.

  • Center-mounted turbocharger pulls fresh air in through the air cleaner and into its compressor.

  • After being compressed, the air is then channeled through a duct to the charge air cooler (which is packaged like an additional radiator in front of the water radiator).

  • The cooled air then travels through the intake manifold and into the engine.

  • This cooler air is denser, so it provides more power.

  • Direct injection with pilot injection delivers precise amounts of fuel to each cylinder to help reduce emissions and noise levels. For more information on this feature, click here.

  • Four-valve-per-cylinder configuration optimizes airflow in and out of the engine, improves breathing, and processes more air, generating more power than competing designs.

  • The cylinder head design allows free breathing, outstanding combustion and high horsepower. The aluminum head design helps improve heat dissipation for increased power.

  • The deep-skirted induction-hardened block helps contribute to Duramax torque capabilities.
